Another alternative to linseed oil would be stain either solid or semi transparent. Under the green paint there s a gray layer which is extremely well adhered to the floor boards. Work in small sections to remove old paint. So when the porch and deck began to look bad i only had one choice to make it look nice again.

The final would need sanding to bring back to fresh wood. If required you can use more than one technique on the same concrete stain for effective results. Repeat the same method above to paint the concrete floor. Do not attempt to rush the sander. Begin applying primer by using a paint brush on the corners and edges of the concrete floor or surface. If you re uncertain your best bet is to opt for an oil based paint stripper.

Use a paint roller to apply primer throughout the floor. It should be used only if you plan to have a topping of cement because the grinder often leaves behind scrapes on the concrete. The first order of business is to strip off the old finish currently on the porch which can be a slow and dirty job but once completed can add significant value compared to what it costs you to complete. The green top layer comes off pretty easily.

An effective method for removing paint stains from concrete is to use floor grinders with diamond wheels. Scrape loose paint using a paint scraper until all peeling paint has been removed. The paint is designed to be applied on interior or exterior surfaces and not become slippery when wet.
